Our kids and grandkids were taught to respect and cooperate with police, in fact we had some cops among our circle of friends. But we never wore blinders to the fact that there are some that are corrupt and unprofessional. Many police dept's especially in small communities, are so underfunded by "fiscally responsible" local governments, they tend to attract types that are either looking for a power rush or other asocial reasons.
One of the worst experiences I've had to go through is when my kids started driving was telling them that "if a cop pulls you over roll your window down and place both hands out in full sight." My warning was primarily based on showing the cop that you didn't have a gun in your hands. I never told them, but the other reason was it minimized the reason for a gun happy cop to shoot them where they sat.
Give the police you respect and cooperation that their job deserves but hold them to the higher standard of accountability that the job should bring with it.
Given the history, don't you think it is about time blacks start shooting back?
Those cops had a history too. They were "working men" with "families they supported" putting on bullet proof vest and kissing their wife and children and went to WORK. Their history involved being good parents, good neighbors, good assets to their community. They must have finished school, had to have owned vehicles and didn't need to carjack one. I wouldn't be surprised if they had no prior convictions and did have a license to carry a weapon. Yes, their history is different than the trash that took their life.
It's so obvious it jumps out at you, our MAGATS steaming with disappointment, f*xxy, freddy, Fakey et al inwardly pissed off because the shooter wasn't black.
All this racist turning criminals loose started several years ago when the activist claimed profiling. Truth is, there are way more crimes committed by the 13% than other Americans. Yes, you can read between the lines. They made TV eliminate COPS shows because it looked so one sided. Well folks, it is one sided, very one sided. Did you know it is easier to train a dog than it is to train a snake? Guess why
Hughes, the shooter, was a career criminal and should not have been running loose. Police Chief Jennings said in an interview that there are hundreds more just like him in Charlotte that should not be out on the streets preying on the public. Jennings has long been a critic of the revolving door justice system in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
From the comments: I have lived in Charlotte for 36 years. When I first moved there in the eighties, it was a clean and quiet city. Then the dems and the entitled moved in. And now we have become "little Atlanta" with the filth and crime rates increasing every year. Sad.
